Enterprise Ireland has said that a number of its client companies are on track to achieve €100 million worth of sales by 2010.
The state development agency today announced that 19 of its client companies had passed their threshold sales targets of €10 million, €15 million and €20 million last year.
As part of its three-year strategy, "Transforming Irish Industry 2004 - 2007," Enterprise Ireland's "scaling division" has been working with various companies to allow them to expand their businesses to compete in the global market.
Enterprise Ireland reported that more than 20 acquisitions have been made by participating businesses, and that 13 of the companies involved in the programme have invested at least €2 million on important research and development.
"Progress to date in Enterprise Ireland's scaling strategy is highly encouraging with a number of strong players emerging as internationally regarded leaders in their end markets," Patricia Lister, head of Enterprise Ireland's scaling division, said.
"We are delighted to see our clients progress in achieving these ambitious global sales targets," she added.
