Seabirds gathering:Seabirds: Life on the Edge is the theme of this year's All Ireland Bird Conservation Conference in Sligo, jointly run by Birdwatch Ireland and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) from March 26-28 in the Sligo Park Hotel.
Topics include how climate change is affecting our seabird population. Participants will have opportunities to go on some beautiful field trips and Birdwatch Ireland, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, will launch its forward strategy. Dublin Walks
Architect Alan Mee will lead a free walking tour of Dublin city centre tomorrow as part of the St Patrick’s Festival. Starting from the front gate of Trinity College at 12.30pm, the walk will take in historic and contemporary buildings. Book on trail@stpatricksfestival.ie.

Green Awards
Architects, manufacturers, retailers, local authority personnel, teachers and healthcare professionals gathered to pick up their awards at this year’s Green Awards ceremony in Dublin on Thursday evening. Among the winners were the Westport Woods Hotel and Spa in Co Mayo (Small and Medium Sized Enterprise green award) for its efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its business; Rainvault rain harvesting systems (Green innovation award) for its chemical-free water purification systems and Crumb Rubber Ireland (green entrepreneur award) for its Co Louth tyre recycling business.
