Met Éireann issues weather warning

Winds reaching 85 to 100 km/hr expected on exposed coasts in Donegal, Galway and Mayo

Met Éireann has issued a status orange wind warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo, with strong winds reaching gusts of 85 to 100 km/hr on exposed coasts and hills.

It has also issued a status yellow wind warning for Wexford, Wicklow, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford with blustery conditions and gusts of up to 65 km/hr.

The windy and blustery conditions will continue into Saturday but temperatures are expected to remain mild between 12 to 14 degrees.

The weather will remain mainly dry over most of Leinster and east Munster, but scattered outbreaks of rain in the west and the north will become more widespread in the evening.

Met Éireann predicts temperatures will reach 13 degrees on Friday with some bright and short sunny spells throughout the afternoon.
