Epsom will turn the taps on for some selective watering this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's Vodafone Oaks and Coronation Cup.

Officials watered earlier in the week and they had hoped they would not need to repeat the process ahead of the two-day meeting.  However, just one millimetre of rain fell at the track yesterday.

Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper said: "There is a predominately dry forecast, with only a slight prospect of the odd shower, so the plan is to put five millimetres of water on the hill today.

"We will monitor the remainder of the course during racing tomorrow and we may put up to another five millimetres on the home straight tomorrow evening.

There will be fresh ground on the inside for Derby day as the temporary rail on the far side for the last six furlongs will be taken down after racing tomorrow.
