Soccer:Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has been confirmed Leicester City's new manager. Eriksson replaces Paulo Sousa, who was sacked on Friday with the club languishing at the foot of the Championship table.
Eriksson has been out of work since managing the Ivory Coast at the World Cup in South Africa, where they failed to reach the knock-out stages.
Prior to that, he had a seven-month spell as Notts County’s director of football, having managed Mexico’s national team from June 2008 to April 2009.
The well-travelled 62-year-old has also had spells at Manchester City, Roma, Lazio and Benfica among others. Eriksson will become Leicester’s seventh manager since former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric took over in 2007.
