The ESB has agreed not to cut off the power to a sewage plant serving almost 300 homes and a school because of a row over an unpaid electricity bill.

Residents of College Park and surrounding estates in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, were told they had until November 21st to pay the outstanding €4,000 bill.

The residents received a letter saying the power to the sewage plant would be disconnected and that it may not be reconnected for 48 hours.

Residents claim the money is owed by the former developer of the site, which has since gone into liquidation. But now the ESB has said it will not seek the money from the residents of the area.
