Euro Disney loss narrows after restructuring

Losses at French theme park operator Euro Disney narrowed in the first half thanks to a financial restructuring.

Losses at French theme park operator Euro Disney narrowed in the first half thanks to a financial restructuring.

The operator of the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney Studios theme parks outside Paris reported a net loss of €80.9 million in the six months to the end of March, narrowing from a €109 million loss in the year-ago period.

The improvement was helped by a financial restructuring plan, approved in December, that included a €253 million capital increase carried out in February.

The operator of Europe's most-visited tourist attraction reaffirmed its aim to improve sales this year, despite a late Easter and shifts in the school holiday calendar that it believes will hit third-quarter sales.
