Lucky Ryan Magee and his wife Margaret were yesterday celebrating their weekend EuroMillions win of £6,462,181.30 (€8,690,680.47).
The Derry man's winning ticket was one of 16 bought throughout Europe - six in the UK - which shared a payout of more than €120 million.
Ryan has already treated himself to a £157,000 Ferrari car, whereas Margaret intends to buy a pet dog for their 10-year-old son Lee.
The couple, from Ivy Mead in the Waterside area of Derry, are Northern Ireland's third biggest National Lottery winners and the win was a combination of Ryan's determination and self-belief.
"I kept telling Margaret all last week I was going to win. She told me to catch myself on," he said.
He was so certain he would win that he bought 11 tickets in different places on the day of the draw.
He said: "In the week leading up to Friday's draw I was certain I would win. I just couldn't get it out of my head so on the day, while I was travelling on business, I bought tickets in Omagh, Strabane, Coleraine and Londonderry.
"The winning ticket was the last one of the 11 I checked, by which time the numbers were in my head so I knew straightaway that I'd won. But despite my premonition I still couldn't believe it.
"We were at a party on Friday night and I was a bit worse for the wear so I didn't look at the numbers until Saturday. The winning ticket was the last one I'd checked. Margaret, who is a student mental health nurse, was at work and I drove to her and told her the news. She thought I'd gone crazy.
"We went to Belfast on Saturday to buy a Ferrari. Initially, the garage salesman thought I was having him on and he told me there was a waiting list of several weeks before any Ferraris would be delivered to the garage. But we managed to convince him we were serious and he then said that there had been a cancellation of a delivered car so I bought that," he said.
Margaret, who is expecting her second child in August, described the last few days since their win as crazy.
"It just hasn't stopped. I let him buy his wee toy of a car and I'm looking for a house in the country with lots of room for dogs but first I want to buy our son Lee a pet dog. After that we'll just sit down and talk about what we're going to do with this scary amount of money.
"The last few days have been chaotic . . . This morning our families and friends were celebrating with champagne but because I'm pregnant I stuck to the orange juice because the birth of our baby means more to me than all of this money," she said.
