Eurozone industrial output rose 0.7 per cent in May, according to the EU statistics office Eurostat.
This was up 3.9 per cent year-on-year, Eurostat said.
Month-on-month, the capital goods sector posted a rise of 1.3 per cent, energy output was up 0.8 per cent, non-durable consumer goods were 0.7 per cent higher, intermediate goods increased 0.3 per cent, and durable consumer goods were flat.
Year-on-year, capital goods output was up 5.6 per cent, energy was 4.2 per cent higher, durable consumer goods rose 3.9 per cent, intermediate goods were up 3.7 per cent, and non-durable consumer goods increased 2.8 per cent.
