There are many events in Dublin and around the country during the weekend to mark the single largest expansion of the EU tomorrow.
Communities in Bray, Kilkenny, Waterford, Cork, Killarney, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Letterkenny and Drogheda have each "adopted" one of the 10 accession states - Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Cyprus and Malta.
They will be holding events, many of them themed to the new European Union member-states.
