With the campaign for the new parliament elections on May 6th hotting up, the Scottish National Party found itself short of space at headquarters in Edinburgh. So it opened a temporary media centre in Howe Street, New Town, the posh Georgian district. Party hacks failed to notice, however, that this vital fount of enlightenment and truth was next door to an Irish pub by the name of Fibber Magees. Rivals have been making much of the juxtaposition, and there is merriment on one side and embarrassment on the other.
