A teenager claimed in the Central Criminal Court yesterday that her former childhood sweetheart raped her after a disco in 1996, saying he wanted to be the one to take her virginity. A 19year-old from Co Wicklow has pleaded not guilty to rape on April 24th, 1996.
The alleged victim said the accused asked her if he could walk her home. He asked her to go down a laneway and she had no problem with this despite the fact it was not on the way to her house. They kissed for a while but when she told him she wanted to go home, he ignored her and put his hand up her skirt. He then tripped her up, held her down and raped her, she claims. The case continues.
