An art exhibition called "Home" which is aiming to raise awareness and understanding on the issue of homelessness was opened in Dublin last night.

The exhibition is part of an initiative called ArtDublin07 which sees fashion store BT2 teaming up with online gallery Art to Order, to sell specially commissioned works by upcoming Irish artists in a bid to raise money for Focus Ireland.

The profits from the sale of these works will go towards Focus Ireland's extension and outreach centre, which provides services for young homeless people in the Dublin area.

"This project will not only raise vital funds, but it will also get people thinking about the concept of home . . . This discussion can only be a positive thing as raising awareness of the issue is vital to more effectively combating homelessness," Declan Jones of Focus Ireland said.

Participating artists, including Mo Kelly and Ross Stewart, have used ceramics, glass, and textiles to make the pieces they have contributed to the exhibition, which will be held in BT2 on Dublin's Grafton Street until July 30th.
