The work of artist Jack B Yeats is celebrated in an exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of his death opening today.
The National Gallery launches its Masquerade and Spectacleexhibition, which features 22 paintings and watercolours drawn mainly from private collections.
The exhibition focuses on the theme of the circus and the travelling fair in the work of the artist who died in 1957. It shows how certain motifs such as the clown and the circus horse recurred in Yeats's work throughout his career.
