The intriguing theory that time does not exist and does not have to exist will be put to a public meeting tomorrow by Dr Julian Barbour, a leading research physicist.
At the meeting, arranged by the Metaphysical Society of Trinity College, Dr Barbour will discuss his mathematical research, which argues that the universe and what we understand as past and present can be explained without the need to have time as a reference point. The talk begins at 7.30 p.m. in the Swift A lecture theatre in the Trinity Arts Block.
