At least 20 paramilitary soldiers were wounded today when a bus they were travelling in ran over a landmine in the revolt-racked Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
A landmine planted by militants went off when a bus carrying CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) passed near Pancholi Nala in Doda district. At least 20 CRPF personnel were wounded in the explosion, a police official said.
Doda district lies 350 kilometres southeast of Srinagar, the state's summer capital. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Nearly a dozen militant groups are fighting New Delhi's rule in the country's only Muslim-majority state where authorities say more than 30,000 people have died in nearly 12 years of rebellion.
