Two Co Armagh men were stated at a special court in Craigavon yesterday to have denied involvement in an alleged incident at Lurgan on February 6th.

Mr Damien Duffy (26), of Lurgantarry and Mr Paul McKerr (26) of Deeny Drive, both Lurgan, were charged with possessing or having under their control an explosive substance with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property in the Lurgan area. They were remanded in custody to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court sitting at the Maze Prison on February 26th.

An RUC detective sergeant told the court that when arrested, charged and cautioned, both Mr Duffy and Mr McKerr said: "Definitely not guilty."

In reply to questioning, he said the nature of the evidence against both men was circumstantial and forensic.
