Gardaí in Limerick have discovered a cache of explosives during a follow-up search after the arrest of two suspected dissident republicans.
Two men - one in his fifties and the other in his sixties - were detained when gardaí raided a house in Sarsfield Court, Garryowen on Wednesday.
One of the men is believed to be a senior member of the "Real IRA".
A Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition and grenades were found during the initial arrests, and the explosives were found yesterday, gardaí said.
