Factory gate prices increased 3.5 per cent year-on-year to the end of November, according to new statistics.
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) wholesale price index shows price increases of 1.1 per cent in the month. This compares to a decrease of 1.4 per cent in November last year.
In the month, the index for export sales increased by 1.3 per cent, while the index for home sales remains unchanged, the CSO said.
The most significant increases in the month were in the basic chemicals sector (+1.7 per cent), other food products (+1.9 per cent), meat and meat products (+2.6 per cent) and in radio, television and communication equipment (+1.6 per cent).
In terms of the overall annual change, basic chemicals contributed an increase of 5.5 per cent, while the other food products sector was up by 7.7 per cent.
The yearly price index for mining and quarrying increased by some 22.4 per cent, according to the latest figures. The price of energy products has jumped by 7.8 per cent in the year since last November.
