Members of the Government, the FAI and Campus and Stadium Ireland Development met this morning to discuss the Government’s proposed stadium and have agreed on another meeting.
According to a joint statement issued by the Government and the FAI, the Taoiseach Mr Ahern outlined the government proposal for detailed talks with the FAI on the Stadium Ireland and Sports Campus Ireland project.
The FAI representatives asked a number of specific questions relating to the Government’s proposal and related issues, the statement said.
It added that the Taoiseach and Ministers responded to these questions and undertook to have an expanded detailed proposal prepared for talks at a further meeting between the two sides to be held on March 5th.
Those attending this morning’s meeting included The Minister for Finance Mr Charlie McCreevy; the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation Dr Jim McDaid; FAI Chief Executive Mr Bernard O’Byrne; FAI Honorary Treasurer Mr Brendan Menton; and Mr Paddy Teahon and Mr Donagh Morgan of Campus and Stadium Ireland Development.
