The FAI have confirmed that Republic of Ireland underage coach Sean McCaffrey will not have his contract renewed when it expires at the end of this year.
McCaffrey, who has worked for the FAI since 1999, was manager of the under-17, under-18 and under-19 sides.
John Morling, the current under-15/16 coach and former Peterborough United manager will take charge of the Under-16/17 side, while Niall Harrison has been named as under-15 head coach.
The position of under-18/19 will advertised by as association from tomorrow, with an appointment being made ahead of the Uefa Under-19 championship qualifiers, which start on October 7th.
FAI Director of International High Performance Wim Koevermans thanked McCaffrey for his contribution to the underage game, but believes the time is right for change.
“We thank Sean for the service he has given to the Association and the development of our young players. After almost seven years in charge and with his contract expiring at the end of this year, the time is now right for a change of hands.”
