Racing: Tomorrow's fixture at Fairyhouse is subject to a further inspection at 8am on raceday. Conditions were described as heavy but raceable following a check of the course this morning.
The meeting, which was cancelled due to waterlogging last week, is due to feature the Group Three Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Brownstown Stakes.
Fairyhouse general manager Peter Roe is optimistic tomorrow’s rescheduled meeting will be able to go ahead. “We are a little bit damp, but a little bit better than we were expecting. The ground is heavy, but we are raceable,” he told At The Races.
“We are moving a rail to get where we want to but the Irish summer, like it has been across the water, has been horrendous — rain after rain after rain. We may get two of three millimetres of rain before racing tomorrow, but we should be all right.
“We are just having a look tomorrow to be sure. With the summer we are having and the uncertainty of the weather we thought it prudent to have another look in the morning.”
