Mr Glynn Roberts, a spokesman for Families Against Intimidation and Terror (FAIT), has called on loyalist paramilitaries to end their campaigns of violence.

He cited 60 shootings and beatings this year by loyalist paramilitaries as well as the burning out of Catholic families during the Drumcree stand-off.

He was responding to the leader of the Progressive Unionist Party (PUP), Mr David Ervine, who said on Tuesday he believed that if the IRA did not say the war was over, then the agreement was also over.
