Fake DVDs worth €100,000 seized in Dublin

Bootleg DVDs and CDs with an estimated value of €100,000 have been seized in a Garda raid on two houses Dublin.

Bootleg DVDs and CDs with an estimated value of €100,000 have been seized in a Garda raid on two houses Dublin.

Officers from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigations Anti-Racketeering Unit raided the houses in the Kingswood area of Tallaght and the Blackhorse area of Dublin this morning.

In addition to the forged discs, a large amount of equipment, including copiers, CD burners and blank CDs were recovered.

There were no arrests.

The raids were part of Operation Pine, which is a joint cross-border initiative by the Gardaí and PSNI aimed at counterfeiting and racketeering.
