The family of a murdered Limerick car dealer has issued an appeal to the public to help gardaí find his killers on the third anniversary of his death.
Seán Poland was shot dead at the front door of his home in Blackwater, Ardnacrusha, Co Clare, shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve 2002.
Mr Poland (39) was gunned down by a gang of up to six masked men. His girlfriend, Joanne Lyons, had her hands tied and was left to watch as her partner lay dying and his killers made off with €1,000 in cash.
Although a number of people have been arrested and questioned about the killing, no one has been charged with Mr Poland's murder.
Last night his brother, Ray Poland, urged anyone with information to contact the gardaí. He said the family was still awaiting closure in their efforts to come to terms with his death.
"If there is anyone out there who knows anything about Seán's murder, please contact the gardaí - no matter how insignificant you might think the information is."
It is understood Mr Poland's death may be linked to a car deal he made earlier that day and that his killers may have been aware that he had a sizeable amount of cash at his home.
