Mourners: The chief mourners at the funeral Mass were Charles Haughey's wife, Maureen, children Conor, Eimear, Ciarán and Seán, sister Maureen, brothers Seán and Fr Eoghan Haughey.

President Mary McAleese and Chief Justice John Murray were also there.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Tánaiste Mary Harney were present, as were Minister for Justice Michael McDowell, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin, Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O'Donoghue, Minister for Social and Family Affairs Séamus Brennan, Minister for Communications, the Marine and Natural Resources Noel Dempsey, Minister for Education Mary Hanafin, Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Éamon Ó Cuív, Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea, Minister for Agriculture Mary Coughlan, and Minister for the Environment Dick Roche.

Present also were a large number of priests from the Oblate congregation of which Fr Haughey is a member.

Trade union representatives included Siptu president Jack O'Connor and ICTU general secretary David Begg.
