THE Nenagh mother of two whose house was subjected to an attempted petrol bomb attack on Monday has said she might have to consider leaving her semi detached home for good.

Ms Rosemary Jones (27), said she is too frightened toe return to her home in Cormack Drive after the attack. "I don't know what to do. I don't want to leave because I don't want toe give in to whoever did this, but I have to consider my safety and the safety of my children," she said yesterday.

Ms Jones and her two children, Nicola (10) and Laura, (8), escaped unharmed from the house after being woken up by the sound of windows smashing. "I was in my bed asleep, and heard windows breaking and jumped out and went into the sitting room. I saw the whole window, including the curtains, up in a blaze. The only reason it did not spread was because I had an Austrian blind on the window and the fire did not get past that."

Gardai have not yet established a definite lead in their investigation but are treating the matter "very seriously".

Fragments of glass from what is believed to have been the first of three petrol bombs intended for the house were found scattered on the floor of the sitting room. A bedroom window was also smashed and two fully prepared but unused fire bombs were found outside by members of the fire brigade. It is thought that the perpetrator was interrupted.
