A family of 15 siblings today wearily trudged their way into the record books after completing the Dublin City Marathon.
The world-beating feat by the O'Donoghue clan from Birr, Co Offaly helped fundraise more than eur40,000 for Down Syndrome Ireland.
The eight men and seven women, who are aged from 32 to 52, immediately entered the Guinness World Book of Records. They had to finish in under eight hours to beat the previous record of 12 siblings and held by a US family.
Cronan O'Donoghue was first over the finish line at Fitzwilliam Square followed by Willie, Kieran, Theresa, Joe, Pat, Robert, Mary, Margaret, Noel, Adelaide, James, Brenda, Kevin and Louise.
Louise said: "Cronan came in first in about 4:15. Fantastic. We are so proud of him and proud of everybody."
The 28th annual Dublin City Marathon saw almost 11,000 athletes taking part.
