A Co Monaghan farmer died last Tuesday evening after his tractor overturned. Mr Gussie Callan (62), from the Laragh area, was driving along the Lough Egish road when the accident occurred. He was trapped underneath the vehicle and was dead on arrival at Monaghan General Hospital.
Gardai in Monaghan say that there are no suspicious circumstances in the death of a well-known former publican in the town. Mr Bill Duffy (76), originally from Co Kerry, was found dead on Tuesday night in his home at Beechgrove Lawns. The discovery came after neighbours had told gardai that Mr Duffy had not been seen since December 28th.
