Europe's largest careers, education and skills showcase opened at Croke Park today with more than 100,000 expected to attend the free event.
The FÁS Opportunities showcase, now in its 14th year, offers a range of career advice with some exhibitors recruiting actively for vacancies in the financial, construction, retail IT and pharmaceutical areas.
Minister for Education and Science Mary Hanafin today said the exhibition's growth has mirrored that of the economy's during the last 14 years.
The Minister said: "It is events like Opportunities 2007 which is a real live demonstration of how we as a nation are growing and developing in employment and education." Ms Hanafin said.
"There is a continuing need to upskill those at work and improve the education and training qualifications of those out of work or waiting to enter the workforce. Ireland needs a base of high-value skills to take it and its people forward," she added.
The free event runs until Monday March 5th.
