NO longer happy with scenarios set in the 21st century, Telstar's space combat simulation sees you in control of the most lethal flying machine the 31st century has ever seen. Your missions - there are 60 in total - require you to wipe out the remnants of a rebellion and crush small-time warlords on the outermost planets.
Your craft is a Predator Mark IV planetary assault vehicle. There is no such thing as an innocent civilian so one can throw caution to the wind. As is the norm with these type of games your sorties initially are limited to simulated flights where you are introduced to the basic flight control and combat aspects of the craft.
When you have progressed to real combat zones there is plenty to keep you occupied. The fact that you can control up to 10 wingmen highlights this.
Although there is nothing startlingly new about Starfighter 3000, what it does it does quite well. Graphically it is not dissimilar to Magic Carpet and from a playing aspect it could be compared favourably with Microsoft Fury or Terminal Velocity Two plus points worth noting are the comprehensive camera viewing system and your craft's ability to vaporise the surface of planets, causing mountains and hills to collapse.
