A Dundalk man involved in a fatal car accident has been fined £250 and disqualified from driving for two years following his conviction by a jury for careless driving.

Earlier, Hugh McNamee told Dublin Circuit Criminal Court he would have pleaded guilty had he been charged with careless driving.

NcNamee, in his 50s, of Sportsmanshall, Dundalk, had pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving causing the death of Sarah Moran, of New Rath, Drumiskin, Co Louth, on May 4th, 1995.

Mrs Moran died from head injuries following the accident at the Greengates, near Dundalk.
