A father and son charged with handling a jeep knowing or believing it to be stolen were granted bail at Drogheda District Court yesterday. Mr Michael Byrne (54) and Mr Paul Byrne (30) of College Road, Clane, Co Kildare had been remanded in custody at a special sitting of Ballybay District Court last Monday.
Both are charged with handling stolen property between February 18th and March 21st last, at College Road, Clane. Judge Flann Brennan was told that the jeep, valued at £14,000, had been recovered. He remanded both men on their own bail of £1,000 and an independent surety of £1,000 each to appear at Carrickmacross District Court on October 12th.
