'Favourable' drilling for African Eagle

African Eagle has reported “favourable” results from its drilling programme at the Zanzui nickel project in Tanzania.

African Eagle has reported “favourable” results from its drilling programme at the Zanzui nickel project in Tanzania.

The testing uncovered nickel grades at Zanzui that are marginally lower than at its flagship Dutwa nickel project, located 50km away. However, the company said cobalt grades at Zanzui are significantly higher.

"Metallurgical testing of samples from previous drilling at Zanzui, reported last year, showed that the deposit apparently enjoys the same favourable processing characteristics as Dutwa," managing director Mark Parker said.

"Potentially, this offers economies of scale for the development of Dutwa and augurs well for the long term sustainability of African Eagle's nickel activities in this promising region."
