A DAUGHTER of the jailed drug dealer Tony Felloni was returned for trial when she appeared at Galway District Court yesterday on charges of handling stolen property, Kevin O'Sullivan writes.
Ms Ann Felloni (25) of 73 Dominick Street, Dublin, was granted bail after the court heard she was out on temporary release from prison as she was terminally ill. She was charged with handling £755 worth of goods including CDs, audio tapes, jewellery, women's clothing and a holdall bag at Corrib Village, Galway, on August 19th, 1995, knowing the goods to be stolen.
Ms Felloni told Insp Tony Dowd, prosecuting, she had no "income or assets" and was did not claim social welfare. She had been "in and out of prison" and had come before the court of her own free will. She has three young children.
Judge John Garavan returned her for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court on April 8th. He granted free legal aid and agreed to grant bail on Ms Felloni's own surety of £1,000 and an independent surety of £3000.
