Formual One:Ferrari boss Jean Todt has ridiculed suggestions defending Formula One champion Fernando Alonso will drive for the Scuderia next year.

Alonso has been linked with a move to Ferrari given his fractious relationships at McLaren with boss Ron Dennis and team-mate Lewis Hamilton, yet when asked as to Alonso's chances of a race seat for 2008, an insistent Todt replied: "Zero per cent.

"We have two fantastic drivers in Kimi (Raikkonen) and Felipe (Massa). We are very happy with them and they are under contract.

"I would respect a contract for a guy cleaning the floor, so you can imagine that I will respect a contract with them. If we have a contract, we respect it."

Alonso's most likely destination remains a return to Renault, the team that helped him become world champion in 2005 and 2006.

The FIA, meanwhile, has revised it's communication methods following yesterday's administrative mix-up prior to the Japanese Grand Prix at a rain-hit Fuji Speedway.

All teams were instructed via email 55 minutes before the race started to fit extreme wet-weather tyres to their cars. However, all but Ferrari replied, insisting they did not receive such notification, and as a result they started on intermediates.

Once the race, which began behind the safety car due to the conditions, was underway it was soon noted that Raikkonen and Massa were on the wrong tyres.

The duo were forced to pit to change to extreme wets, compromising their race as they dropped from third and fourth respectively to the back of the field.

That led to much anger and frustration from Todt but the team opted not to lodge any appeal in the interests of the sport.
