Fears were growing yesterday for the future of a ferry service between Ballycastle in Co Antrim and Campbeltown on the west coast of Scotland.
The Argyll and Antrim Steam Packet Company is considering the future of the route after disappointing returns.
The North Antrim DUP Assembly member, Mr Ian Paisley jnr, expressed concern about its future, urging the company not to rush into any decision.
The ferry service opened in July 1997, with the crossing lasting 21/2 hours. There are two return sailings daily.
