Festival of music, film and poetry to open in Dingle this evening

The Feile na Bealtaine festival opens in Dingle this evening and continues until Monday

The Feile na Bealtaine festival opens in Dingle this evening and continues until Monday. The festival of music, poetry, film and politics proudly manages to put on a full programme without help from the drinks industry, receiving support instead from Udaras na Gaeltachta and the Arts Council.

Traditional meets Latin might characterise the music content for the coming week, with traditional musicians from all over Ireland and Maraca and a 12-piece Cuban group providing entertainment.

On Friday, Philip King, Liam O Muirilthe, Seosaimhin Ni Bheaghlaoich and others, will gather for "music, literature and songs from every province in Ireland" and along the way, there will be many an enjoyable evening at the festival club in the Skellig Hotel.

It will close on Monday with a symposium on globalisation. Further information from Ms Aileen Ni She at 066 9151082.
