Fianna Fáil has selected sitting TD Jim Glennon and councillors Michael Kennedy and Darragh O'Brien to stand in the constituency of Dublin North.
The three candidates were selected unopposed at a convention in Swords last night.
The selection of the two councillors follows the announcement earlier this month by sitting TD GV Wright that he was retiring from politics at the next election.
Fianna Fáil currently holds two seats in the constituency, with Labour and the Green Party holding one seat each. Labour's Seán Ryan has also indicated he will not run in the next election.
Three sitting Fianna Fáil TDs were selected last night to contest Cork North West in the next general election. The sitting Fianna Fáil TDs in Cork North West - Donal Moynihan and Michael Moynihan - were joined on the party ticket by Cork South Central TD and Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Batt O'Keeffe.
Last night's selection convention at Millstreet GAA club was heavily attended. The first convention saw party members from Boherbue, Kanturk, Millstreet and Charleville nominate sitting TD Michael Moynihan.
The second convention saw delegates from the west and southern end of the constituency nominate sitting TD Donal Moynihan.
The third district convention saw delegates from the Ballincollig and Ballinora areas nominate Batt O'Keeffe.
