Eight employees of a Connemara company were shocked to find the plant had closed down when they turned up for work this week. Udaras na Gaeltachta, which helped set up the fibreoptic manufacturer, is trying to secure alternative employment for the staff of Litecom Teo, located near Lettermore.
"It was a complete shock to us. We left our jobs on Friday evening and came back to nothing on Monday morning," said one employee of the company.
