The fifth passenger in the Threemilehouse car crash which killed four others died in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda last night.

John McQuillan (27), from the Cabra estate in Threemilehouse, was a backseat passenger in the car which carried three others. It was driven by Dermot Thornton, whose funeral is being held this morning.

The three men were killed instantly when the car collided head-on with the car driven by another friend, Ciaran Hagan (20). He was buried yesterday with his cousin, Gary McCormick (20). The funeral of the other passenger, Brian O'Neill (19) was also held earlier yesterday.

Mr McQuillan, a single man, worked in the construction industry, and was the father of a young girl.
