The robbery occurred at a house in Ardarvan, Buncrana in the early hours of Saturday morning. A man entered the property and threatened and assaulted the woman before leaving with an amount of cash, understood to be a four figure sum.

The woman, who lives alone, managed to draw attention to the incident by pressing a panic alarm. She was found a short time later and taken to Letterkenny General Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were not said to be serious.
