A woman questioned by gardaí over the death of a Somalian man whose body was found in Dublin's Royal Canal last March has been released from custody.

A Garda spokesman said a file was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The woman (50) was arrested in Co Carlow yesterday.

Anohter woman - mother-of-four Linda Mulhall, of Kilclare Gardens, Tallaght - has been charged in Dublin District Court with the murder of Sheilila Salim (38), also known as Farah Swaleh Noor, on or about March 20th at Richmond Cottages, Ballybough.

Mr Salim's remains were discovered on March 30th in refuse bags dumped in the Royal Canal by a man walking along the Ballybough Road.

His torso, arms and legs were found but despite extensive searches of the canal his head is still missing.

It is believed he had been dead for more than a week before the extremely decomposed remains were discovered wrapped in black plastic. He had been in Ireland since 1996, and was living in the North Circular Road area.
