The Lindsay Tribunal is to hear closing submissions from the tribunal lawyers today. The hearings of oral testimony concluded last week.
Judge Alison Lindsay will hear a synopsis of the evidence, to be followed over the next few days by submissions from the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, the Irish Haemophilia Society, Department of Health and a number of hospitals, health boards and consultants.
She is expected to retire to draft her final report some time next week. The report will be published early next year.
The DPP will then consider if criminal proceedings are to be instigated into anyone involved in the infection of more than 250 Irish haemophiliacs with hepatitis and HIV, 78 of whom have died.
The tribunal has been sitting for just over two years.
