Somewhat unexpectedly, the GAA have declined to move this weekend's National Football League final between Derry and Kerry to avoid a clash with Munster's Heineken Cup semi-final on the same afternoon.

The decision, which will see the Division One decider take place in Dublin's Parnell Park at 2.15pm, was taken at today's meeting of the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC).

It had been anticipated that the match would be rescheduled for Saturday night, averting an overlap with Munster's match against Saracens which kicks off at 3pm.

The Division One decider will be preceded by the Division Three final between Wexford and Fermanagh (12.30pm).

Newly promoted Dublin and Westmeath will face in other in in Páirc Tailteann Saturday evening (7pm) to contest the Division Two title while the Division Four final, which sees Offaly tackle Tipperary, takes place in Portlaoise the following day.

Meanwhile, the CCCC will not be making any comment this stage regarding the ugly scenes that marred Dublin's win over Meath yesterday.

Referee Paddy Russell sent five players off, three from Dublin and two from Meath, as violence flared early in the ill-tempered contest. Dublin's Ciaran Whelan also had a cup of tea or coffee thrown at him from the stands following his dismissal.

In today's statement, the CCCC confirmed there will be "no announcement with regard to disciplinary issues  . . . until further notice."
