A financial firm is to create 60 jobs in Dublin over the next three years.

A financial firm is to create 60 jobs in Dublin over the next three years.

Capita Financial Group Ireland intends to more than double its workforce, which administers funds worth €1.8 billion. Capita established an operation in Dublin in 2006

Paul Nunan, managing director of Capita’s Irish operation, said: “We are very optimistic about the future of the company and the industry in which we operate and look forward to continue to grow the business in Ireland.” The company employs 40 people in Ireland in transfer agency and fund administration.

Gary Palmer, head of the Irish Funds Industry Association, said: “The announcement from Capita highlights the strength of the Irish funds industry.”

In a separate boost, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O'Keeffe announced 50 new jobs at a leading US market research firm in Galway.

Industrial Info Resources (IIR) is to set up its European operations centre in Ballybrit business park and take on the staff over the next five years. The new roles will be in research, sales, administration and management and recruitment has begun.

"IIR's investment in Galway reinforces the western region's growing reputation as a location for high-end business services operations," said Mr O'Keeffe.

Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Texas, IIR carries out in-depth market research on the industrial
processing, heavy manufacturing and energy-related industries worldwide. The firm is expanding to support clients globally.

IIR president Ed Lewis said: "Galway is an ideal location to grow our operations to better service our customers throughout Europe.

"We are confident that the skills we require are readily available in Ireland for the long-term success of our European operations."
