Fire at landmark Dublin city hotel

A fire at Wynn's Hotel on Dublin's Lower Abbey Street caused disruption to traffic this afternoon.

A fire at Wynn's Hotel on Dublin's Lower Abbey Street caused disruption to traffic this afternoon.

A number of units of the fire brigade attended the scene and Luas Red Line services were stopped between Smithfield and Connolly station. The service continued running between Smithfield and Tallaght.

All services have now resumed.

The hotel was evacuated while fire crews tackled the blaze, which has now been extinguished.

A Garda spokesman said the fire started in the hotel's laundry room, but that it was "too early to speculate on the cause".
