Members of the emergency services took part in an exercise that involved the simulated crashing of an aircraft during an air display in Birr, Co Offaly, on Saturday.
The scenario envisaged responding to numerous casualties and was designed to give the emergency services a chance to do their work in a realistic setting.
The exercise involved the Garda Síochána, the Health Service Executive, Civil Defence, Fire Service, Offaly County Council and the Air Accident Investigation Unit.
It lasted for about three hours and ended with the full debriefing of all staff involved.
