Seven replica pistols, a handgun and cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €7,000 was discovered during two separate searches in the Dublin area last night.
Gardaí from Rathfarnham conducted a planned search of open ground in the Ballycullen area yesterday evening and recovered seven handguns.
A technical examination of the guns by the Garda Ballistic Section found they were replicas.

Blanchardstown area, a handgun and cannabis resin were discovered at a house in the Corduff shortly after 11pm,
A man in his early 20s was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
He can be held for up to seven days.
