Yannina - A dozen villages in the north-western Greek region of Epirus were evacuated yesterday after a wildfire spread over the border from Albania, killing four people, firefighters said.
The bodies of an elderly couple were found in their home late on Thursday in the village of Agia Marina, while the bodies of two other elderly women were discovered in nearby villages. More than 200 firefighters in Corsica struggled yesterday to control blazes that had already destroyed 2,000 hectares of woodland.
